Tyre Pressure Calculator is a tool for race teams to record tyre pressure readings, air temperature readings, tarmac temperature readings, notes, and related team/project information.
Information we collect
We may collect the following information when you use the app:
- Email address, used for login and account access
- Name, used to identify who submitted readings
- Organisation/team membership information
- Tyre pressure readings
- Air and tarmac temperature readings
- Notes entered by users
- Technical identifiers required for authentication and app functionality
- Notification preferences, time zone, and account-linked push delivery tokens when you enable mobile notifications
- On Android, QR scanner usage events, performance and error information, app/device metadata, and installation identifiers processed by Google ML Kit
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Provide login and account access
- Connect mechanics to their race team or organisation
- Save and sync tyre pressure and temperature readings
- Show submitted readings to authorised engineers and team members
- Support project and race weekend workflows
- Deliver optional temperature reminders and alerts when an engineer sends a tyre setup
- Maintain security and prevent unauthorised access
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data.
We do not use personal data for advertising.
We do not share personal data with third-party advertising networks.
Data is processed through trusted service providers used to operate the app, including hosting, authentication, database, and email delivery providers.
Optional push notifications
Notifications are off until you enable them in the mobile app and grant your phone's notification permission. Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and, on iPhone, Apple Push Notification service deliver these messages. Firebase processes installation identifiers; our backend stores the delivery token linked to your account, platform, time zone, and notification preferences to route reminders to the correct device.
Notification content and the identifiers needed to open the relevant project are sent through these providers. Messages may appear on your lock screen, depending on your phone settings. We do not use these identifiers for advertising or cross-app tracking. You can turn off either notification category in Settings or pause temperature reminders until your selected time.
Firebase may process data on its global infrastructure. See Firebase's privacy information for its data handling and retention practices.
Completed setup checkmarks
Setup checkmarks are stored on your device for your account and project. They are not shared with engineers or other mechanics. A resent or changed setup appears open again. Guest/demo checkmarks are temporary and are not uploaded.
Camera access
The mobile app may request camera access to scan a team connection QR code.
Camera access is only used for QR code scanning.
Images and videos are not stored or uploaded.
Android QR scanning uses Google ML Kit. Images and decoded QR content are processed on your device; only the team code you confirm is sent to our backend to join your team. ML Kit sends Google installation identifiers, scanner usage events, performance metrics, error codes, and app/device metadata. Google uses these metrics to diagnose, maintain and improve the scanner and detect abuse, under ML Kit's privacy terms and Google's Privacy Policy. You can enter the team code manually instead of opening the scanner.
Account deletion
Users can request account deletion from the mobile app settings.
When an account is deleted, personal profile data and account access are removed.
Historical team readings may be retained as operational team records, but personal display information may be anonymised where appropriate.
Data security
We use secure communication methods such as HTTPS/TLS to protect data in transit.
Access to team and project data is restricted based on authenticated user permissions.
Data retention
We retain operational team data for as long as needed to provide the service to race teams, unless deletion or anonymisation is requested and legally or operationally appropriate.
